After countless days skiing across frozen, unforgiving Antarctic, Roald Amundsen becomes the first man to reach the South Pole. Following one of the most storied ascents in mountaineering history, Sir Edmund Hillary, after the mountain had beaten many more extensively funded and outfitted teams, sinks his crampons into the summit of Mount Everest.
