What is special about this trip?
Unlike the other South Pacific islands, New Caledonia is not volcanic but part of a mostly submerged prehistoric continent called Zealandia. Many of Zealandia’s ancient plant and animal species survive on New Caledonia and no where else in the world! Basically, New Caledonia is the Galapagos Islands that you’ve never heard of. Combine the natural history with the stunning blue waters, tropical climate and incredible mountainous landscapes, and you have a world class kayaking trip!

How long will it take me to get there?
The most direct way to reach New Caledonia from North America is to travel through Fiji. The flight from Los Angeles to Nadi International Airport in Fiji takes about 12.5 hours. The flight from Fiji to New Caledonia is an additional 2 hours.
